Beyond the Falls: Choices
I didn't choose where my story began. But I would learn that the choices we make can change where it goes.
Every Story Begins Somewhere.
Before the titles, the leadership roles, the achievements and the expectations, there was a little girl growing up in the extraordinary landscape of Tuntable Falls.
A place unlike anywhere else. A childhood unlike most. And a beginning that would take decades to fully understand.
Beyond the Falls: Choices is the story of that journey — from a childhood shaped by community, nature and unconventional living, to the woman I am still becoming.
It is about the moments that tested everything. The choices that changed direction. The people who shaped the path. And the quiet, persistent belief that our beginnings do not have to define our endings.
This is not a story about having all the answers. It is about learning to ask better questions — of the world, of others, and of yourself.
Before the Choices, There Was a Beginning.
Every story begins somewhere. But none of us gets to choose where.
From Chapter One — Tuntable Falls: The Beginning of a Complex Journey
"The storm roared over the mountains like a restless symphony the day I came into the world. On 21 August 1979, in the heart of Tuntable Falls, my first breath was taken inside an octahedron, a curious eight sided structure my parents believed harnessed energy from the earth. There was no electricity, no sterile hospital room, only candlelight flickering on rain soaked walls and shadows sliding across the timber as the wind shook the frame."
Beyond the Falls: Choices
Before the titles, the expectations and the achievements, there was a little girl who had no idea where life would take her.
She didn't know what was coming. She couldn't have. But she was already learning — about resilience, about belonging, about what it means to find your place in a world that doesn't always make room for you.
